My Year In Music October 2022

This month, I felt like influencing the My Year in Music playlist a lot more and hand picking some tracks that I feel needed to be included in this year’s playlist. So much so that I started and finished this post less than 24 hours after the last MYIM post went live. This selection of songs are special to me for one reason or another and some tell you a little bit about me if you look close enough. If all this randomness tells you anything extra about me, congratulations and I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about me, I guess. This intro seems really short to me but I guess I’ll let my choices do the talking.

As always, I’m leaving you all with the YouTube playlist and the monthly playlist and the year to date playlist on Spotify. Until next time: Peace! Love! Take care of one another.

October 1: When You Met Me – Chasing Abbey (A solid favourite of mine and picked first for a reason. Also put it back on the setlist Chasing Abbey. Please and thanks)

October 2: #SELFIE – The Chainsmokers (I know every word of this song. EVERY. WORD.)

October 3: All Or Nothing – Wild Youth (The unedited version which I prefer because ‘all roads lead to you’ is such a beautiful concept)

October 4: That Don’t Impress Me Much – Shania Twain (No, I’m not a country music fan, just hard to impress. I have very high standards but if you do well I’ll let you know.)

October 5: Dirty Little Secret – The All-American Rejects

October 6: New Rules – Dua Lipa (I learn my lessons the first time. If we go from hugs to just saying hello, you messed up and it’s on you to fix it. It’s always, ALWAYS a two way street.)

October 7: Suddenly I See – KT Tunstall (I’ve adored this song for years.)

October 8: Independent Women, Part 1 – Destiny’s Child

October 9: Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites – Skrillex (Don’t ask but it’s a great game to play video games to.)

October 10: Dirrty (feat. Redman) – Christina Aguilera (Just a really good song to dance to O:))

October 11: Flicker – Niall Horan (I’m realistic and blunt but nostalgic and optimistic as all hell.)

October 12: Pom Poms – The Jonas Brothers

October 13: Rock Star – Hannah Montana (I can, in fact, fix the flat on your car and, oddly enough, I’m very capable when it comes to fixing cars.)

October 14: Tik Tok – Ke$ha

October 15: Volume Up – 4minute (I really like K-Pop, in case you hadn’t guessed, but only particular groups and artists)

October 16: Lapdance (feat. Lee Harvey & Vita) – N.E.R.D

October 17: Liquid – Ruthanne (I love Irish music and we have some powerful women representing our country who deserve more recognition.)

October 18: Lose Yourself – Eminem (I had to learn this entire song in my first year of college for an English module and it’s the reason I love doing single reviews now. Blame my English lecturer if I picked your song apart in the past.)

October 19: What Do You Mean – Justin Bieber (There’s no way to misinterpret bluntness.)

October 20: Look What You Made Me Do – Taylor Swift (Watch the music video and listen to all the Taylors arguing, that’s my brain!)

October 21: Bullet Proof – La Roux (I like to think that I’m like the title of this song; I 100% am not.)

October 22: Just Like That – The Coronas (Great song to scream at the top of your lungs with your bestie.)

October 23: Waste The Night – 5 Seconds of Summer (I hate wasted chances but have wasted so many and dwell on them a lot)

October 24: Highway To Hell – AC/DC (Based on the jokes I laugh at sometimes, this is the road I’m on. Meet you there.)

October 25: Little Things – One Direction (I love when people notice the tiny details. It fascinates me how much people can pick up when they pay attention.)

October 26: Belgrade – Battle Tapes (Another gaming song of mine so enjoy, I think.)

October 27: Budapest – George Ezra

October 28: From Eden – Hozier

October 29: Bejeweled – Taylor Swift (This song? Yeah, that’s my aesthetic all over. I polish up real nice.)

October 30: Clarity (feat. Foxes) – Zedd (I just needed to include this eventually. Another favourite of mine.)

October 31: Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) – Baz Luhrmann
