July 2022 Monthly Round Up

The busiest month in our household has finally come to an end…  July! Between celebrating All of the birthdays (mine included), working and finishing up the in person part of my Forest School course; there hasn’t been much time set aside for down time. If you haven’t guessed already, we love keeping busy here at Our Muchness Guide. So, before we truly begin counting down the days to our well deserved holiday at the end of August, time to check out our favourites during July.

Book of the Month

E: Honestly, I didn’t get the opportunity to read anything meaningful or worthwhile this month.

N: Jane Austen ‘Mansfield Park’ its my favourite and I needed a comfort classic this month.

Movies & TV

TV Show Picks

E: Been watching some new anime recently so, for me, it’s Darwin’s Game. It’s a clever premise and I’d love to see a second season made.

N: Cheesy Pick this month “First Kill” was it corny? Yes..  Did I binge watch the entire series? Also yes!

Good Movie Recommendation:

E: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Extended Edition. Do the Extended Editions add ridiculously to the Lord of the Rings’ movies run times? Yes. Would I sit and watch them all in succession? Yes.

N: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Cheesy Movie Recommendation:

E: Clueless. I’ve probably seen this movie too many times but it’s a classic. Will I get tired of this movie? AS IF!

N: You can sue me but, honestly the new Thor movie. I sat there being like am I on something? for some of it. I adore the marvel universe but it’s going down as a Cheesy one for me.

Gaming Picks

E: Immortals: Fenyx Rising. I’ve played it on my Switch but, honestly, prefer it on the PlayStation.

N: F1 2022, so far I’m liking what I am seeing in it. The whole 10 minutes I got to play it.

Music

Single of the Month

E: Left And Right by Charlie Puth featuring Jungkook of BTS. I stopped paying attention to new music for a while and then this came on my playlist randomly.

N: ‘Hometown’ MARTYY x Chasing Abbey.  When your boys drop a single on your birthday it has to get top spot regardless of what else came out in July.

Album/EP of the Month

E: Special by Lizzo. Lizzo never disappoints! That is all.

N: Only The Poets “Only For You” I’ve had ‘Nana’s House’ on repeat for about a week now. The Only For You EP came out a few months back with recorded fan favourites that haven’t made it onto streaming sites.

Favourite Things

Favourite Thing About July

E: How genuinely nice SOME people can be when others are less than pleasant to you. Working in retail and customer service sucks.

N: How thoughtful each and every one of my friends and family have been this month. I cherish them all a little more.

Favourite Item of the Month

E: My Sharpie Markers that I’m using a lot lately. Have to catch up on my information gathering.

N: My Mick Schumacher tee shirt Emma got me for my birthday. I wanted it for ages and she got me sorted!

Event of the Month

E: Due to work, work and more work, I got to exactly one event and it was a charity soccer event. Nothing quite like watching a few of the lads I work with and some local mini celebs playing a bit of kick around. Anyone want to explain the offside rule to some people though?

N: A festival on my birthday weekend? Say no more. Folly Fest you were intense (lack of security at barrier) but unforgettable. I’m delighted to see the younger fans lose themselves in the music.

Moment of the Month

E: Honestly, there were no important moments of this month.

N: Conor from Wild Youth dedicated ‘Live Without You’ to me. So frickin proud of him

Quote of the Month

E: “Before you spread rumours about me, fill me in on what you ‘heard’ about me.” (Apparently I have a boyfriend which is news to me but I’d love to meet him.)

N: “All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.” — Earl Nightingale

Three things you are most excited about for August

E: I’m excited to get ready for a Grand Prix and a trip to Amsterdam! And also seriously considering getting myself a new backpack for the trip. I’ll be among my people in the Netherlands as a Verstappen fan and I look good in orange. It’s a win win!

N: Flying to the Netherlands at the end of the month to finally attend a Grand Prix with Emma and her brother, Paul, sightseeing in a new country and the two gigs I’ll get to.
