My Year in Music April 2022

It’s a bit later in the evening than usual but Hi everybody! Another month has been and gone and we have a whole new batch of songs for you to enjoy! A lot of these songs were literally the first songs that sprang to mind or that I heard on any given day and it shows. Tell me this month’s song choices weren’t all your own without telling me this month’s song choices weren’t all your own. It might explain why some of the choices were so random. Of course, some choices just can’t be explained really. For me, some of the joy of creating the MYIM playlists each month is watching songs come together at random and realising they actually go together surprisingly well or not at all. Some playlists work, others sound a bit strange but every playlist is unique and unplanned.

April 1: Comeback Girl – Republic of Loose (Random AF start to the month, I know.)

April 2: Follow – Martin Garrix & Zedd (Two of my favourites on one song and it’s a banger!)

April 3: Take My Hand – 5 Seconds of Summer (How amazing was this gig though!)

April 4: Have You Ever Seen The Rain – Creedence Clearwater Revival

April 5: Talk Too Much – Coin (This song just made such a huge impression.)

April 6: Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) – SMYLES (A cover but still cute.)

April 7: Numb Little Bug – Em Beihold

April 8: Call Out My Name – Chasing Abbey (Our review of my hometown lads is here. A certified banger. The End.)

April 9: Sing Hallelujah! – Dr. Alban

April 10: Coco Jamboo – Mr. President (when you only have gibberish to find a song.)

April 11: For The Love of Money – The O’Jays

April 12: Hold The Line – Toto (an absolute classic)

April 13: 5, 6, 7, 8 – Steps (This is entirely my brother’s fault. I take no responsibility for this choice.)

April 14: If Only – Dove Cameron (If Only)

April 15: Belter – Gerry Cinnamon

April 17: That’s Life – Frank Sinatra (Back on top in June)

April 18: About Damn Time – Lizzo

April 22: Could Have Been Me – The Struts (Just all of the yes! Love this song!)

April 23: Bring It On – Deap Vally (Warrior Nun on Netflix has some epic songs! Yes, that is the name of a Netflix show, no joke.)

April 24: Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked – Cage The Elephant

April 25: Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head – B.J. Thomas (Thanks Will and Niamh for this one while we were walking in front of Buckingham Palace)

April 26: Team – Lorde

April 27: Somewhere Only We Know – Keane
