My Year in Music – March 2022

Oooo we are back! My Year in Music with cryptic explanations is back! I know some of you just come here for the playlists but maybe some of you come to read the little comments that I put alongside my choices. If you are one of the latter then, I think you’ll enjoy this month’s comments. I even have lessons to teach this month, so don’t say I never teach you all anything. If you are the former, I think you’ll enjoy the randomness that is March’s MYIM playlist. There’s a little bit of everything in this month’s playlist. In all honesty, it’s probably one of the most random collections of song so far.

As always, there are two Spotify Playlists (MYIM March and the complete My Year in Music 2022 playlist) along with the complete YouTube playlist as well. Enjoy anyway and I’ll see you with more music choices next month.

Mar 1: It’s My Life – Bon Jovi

Mar 2: Only Human – Ryan Mack

Mar 3: Fake Fine – Robert Grace (My mood on this day summed up in one song.)

Mar 4: Seventeen – Wild Youth (Read our review of Wild Youth’s latest bop here! Still hoping WY will drop my favourite of their unreleased tracks as a single some day.)

Mar 5: High on Life (feat. Bonn) – Martin Garrix

Mar 6: Somehow – Evøke (A surprise single from the lads from Galway and our review of it is here!)

Mar 7: Dear Maria, Count Me In – All Time Low (This is a phase I skipped but this is a serious bop though)

Mar 8: Older – Lea Heart

Mar 9: Adore You – Harry Styles

Mar 10: Break My Heart – JC Stewart (Lesson 1: People can break your heart without ever knowing they had it in the first place)

Mar 11: Ocean (feat. Khalid) – Marin Garrix

Mar 12: Little Bit Louder – Mimi Webb (courtesy of Niamh, I really like this song)

Mar 13: Talk About – Rain Radio & DJ Craig Gorman

Mar 14: Vroom – The Fanatix, Idris Elba, Lil Tay, Koffee, Moelogo (Well Hello Gran Turismo 7. My brother and I play this together. Now, who’s the better racer?)

Mar 15: Disconnected – 5 Seconds of Summer (This is the first song of theirs that I heard and today it was lodged in my brain all day just because.)

Mar 16: It Gets Dark – Sigrid (MYIM must mention Sigrid at least twice in a year or it doesn’t count)

Mar 17: Attention – Charlie Puth (Lesson 2: Some people just want attention and get it by being crappy people. Those are the people you cut from your life! Peace! Love!)

Mar 18: Good Luck – Mabel, Jax Jones and Galantis

Mar 19: Since We’re Alone – Niall Horan (Regardless how much I prefer Heartbreak Weather as a whole, this will be my favourite Niall Horan song for a long time)

Mar 20: Buttons – The PussyCat Dolls

Mar 21: Outnumbered – Dermot Kennedy (“Became a coward when I needed to speak.”)

Mar 22: Darkside – Neoni

Mar 23: Shivers – Ed Sheeran (Not a huge fan of Ed but he makes a good earworm)

Mar 24: Thumbs – Sabrina Carpenter (It’s been all over my TikTok but I still prefer Olivia…just saying *insert all the tea emojis*)

Mar 25: Justified & Ancient – The KLF (I found this song by searching for ‘Moo moo land’ on YouTube. It worked though!)

Mar 26: Better Than Revenge – Taylor Swift (When you start watching new TV shows. “She took him faster than you could say sabotage.”)

Mar 27: Lush Life – Zara Larsson

Mar 28: Wasabi – Little Mix (Lesson 3: Don’t believe everything you hear. Or better still Lesson 4: Get your news directly from the source.)

Mar 29: New Shoes – Paolo Nutini (I love this man’s voice.)

Mar 30: Redbone – Childish Gambino

Mar 31: Tell Me Something Good – Ewan McVicar
