My Year In Music – May 2021

So, May ended with a scorcher of a weekend and good moods all around. We’ve finally gotten a little freedom around here. Funnily enough, I used last year’s MYIM May post as a template for this one and the mood last year was far less cheerful. I suppose it’s proof, to myself and anyone who needs to hear it, that bad times, no matter how bleak they are, shall pass. This month’s list feels like a huge blend of a lot of the kinds of music I listen to on a daily basis, old and new. It is also the beginning of Pride Month and, because it’s the first post of the month, I want to remind all our friends in the LGBTQ+ community that we love and support you regardless of what month of the year it is (we are a rainbow all year round, not just in June). Never be afraid to be 100% you and take this month to celebrate you, you deserve it.
