Regardless of if you are a massive Taylor Swift fan or a casual fan, tomorrow Friday April 9th is a big day in the Swiftie Calendar. Tomorrow marks the beginning of the album rerecording release dates! In celebration of Ms. Taylor slaying it as soon as the clock strikes midnight, we decided to celebrate the release of ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ in the best way possible; a Mega Album Playlist! The idea itself isn’t new as Taylor’s fans across the globe on every social media site are sharing their own versions; so we decided to join in!
So a while back, Queen Taylor (long may she reign) announced a plan to re-record her existing catalog of work. Taylor’s decision came after her former label, Big Machine, was sold to Ithaca Holdings, a company owned by Scooter Braun. She claimed that she was unaware of the sale to Ithaca Holdings and called the deal “my worst-case scenario.” Swift also said that she had tried to buy back her masters from Big Machine but that the deal offered by the label was intolerable. This whole plan to re-record her first six albums may have been sparked by Kelly Clarkson, who tweeted the idea to Swift. For artists, the original recordings of musicians’ work, aka the masters, are vital to a musician musically, artistically and financially. In most situations, labels own those masters but many musicians have tried to hang on to their masters.
Let’s tell you how the Mega Album Playlist works: we gathered our Taylor Swift Albums, deluxe and platinum versions where possible and made a mega list of every number 1 track all the way to track 19. We pinned album against album, era against era and trust us when we say some of these choices were incredibly hard to make! As many Swifties will know, and even Taylor herself knows, each song choice has a story behind it but we’ve decided that some of the reasons are extremely personal. So, we have given a broad explanation of our playlist before giving you the full playlist! One thing we are looking forward to in the rerecordings is a certain song making it onto Spotify!
Mega Album 1: Step on You With A Smile
This playlist is for the gang who are ‘bossy’, ‘intimidating’ or have resting bitch face but who really aren’t all that under their tough exterior. We are the people who are loyal to a fault but we don’t put up with backstabbers and betrayals. We are the definition of killing them with kindness with emphasis on the ‘kill’. We are the people who step on those who have hurt us and keep on moving, smiling all the time. We might be called crazy but, admit it, you like us like that. Underneath everything, we do look for love just like anyone else’s but our love language and affection is different to others. So, ‘This is Me Trying’ to fill the ‘Blank Space’ because I’m ‘The Man’ but I’m ‘Delicate’ like that.

Mega Album 2: A Hopeless Romantic’s Lessons In Life
Welcome to the Hopeless Romantic’s Lessons in Life Playlist! Take a seat with a perfect view out a window, we have a copious supply of chocolate and if you need a box of tissues from cuteness overload we’ve got you covered; don’t worry! All joking aside when it comes to Taylor Swift songs my favourite songs usually sum up the greatest stories captured in her songs. For me this playlist is all about the memories. For example, it is about the memories that spring to mind when you hear the opening of ‘I’m Only Me When I’m With You’ or ‘Long Live’. It’s about that person you can only think about for the entirety of ‘Sparks Fly’ and ‘Paper Rings’. Regardless if you are single, in a relationship or married, this playlist is dedicated to those of us who are Hopeless Romantics who are ruled by their heart and not their mind and the important life lessons we have learned along the way.
