March 2021 Monthly Round Up

Well, another month is in the bag and it’s starting to look a bit more summery out there, you know, when it isn’t pouring rain. This month we were (and, really, I mean I was) spending far too much money on game consoles, learning lots about Formula 1 and enjoying some amazing new music! We introduced our new weekly post ‘New Music Friday’ and it went down a treat meaning it’ll be back in April as well. It also makes picking our favourite single and EP/Album easier too since they’re all gathered together in one place.

March may have come and gone but we are already looking forward to what April has to offer too but, while we’re here, let’s look at what a few of our favourite things this month were.

Book of the Month

E: Being crazy busy and working on my art projects, I haven’t had the time to read anything this month which is slightly disappointing.

N: I reread  ‘Me Before You’ by Jojo Moyes ahead of starting off my April Reading Challenge with ‘After You’.

Movie & TV

TV Show Picks

E: Lucifer. I. Am. Addicted! I’ve binged watched 3 whole seasons in about 6 days and I just love the personality that the show creators gave Lucifer. Also can Chloe and Lucifer please get together already?!

N: The Falcon and Winter Soldier. I know what you’re thinking, another Marvel suggestion Niamh? You better believe it! 100% more action in the opening episodes than WandaVision for one! We both also adore Bucky!

Good Movie Recommendation:

E: Justice League: The Snyder Cut. It may be a huge movie but if you want a decent version of the Justice League this is the movie to watch.

N: Yes Day. It dropped on Netflix this month and is a feel good family film.

Cheesy Bad Movie Recommendation:

E: Lovestruck: The Musical is about as cheesy as you can find but it doesn’t require a huge amount of attention to follow the story so it’s ideal if you’re looking for a movie to play in the background.

N: For the month that it was and the marking of 15 years of Hannah Montana: Hannah Montana: The Movie!

Gaming Picks

E: Well I grabbed myself Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time and I’m in love with it. It’s a well made game and looks wonderful and, on top of everything, it’s a blast from the past because I used to play Crash all the time as a kid.

N: Been battling my way through the same game that I mentioned last month and Final Fantasy VII remake. The remake is exceptionally pretty! I’m loving it!

Music

Single of the Month

E: ‘Follow You’ Imagine Dragons. One of my favourite bands and this track is my favourite of their new releases.

N: ‘Defeated’ Chasing Abbey. My lads are back with my favourite song from them yet! I hate to admit how many times I’ve listened to it since it came out! Make sure you listen to it if you haven’t already!

Album/EP of the Month

E: ‘Spaceman’ by Nick Jonas. This album has so many good tracks on it but ‘This is Heaven’ got me hooked. I love a good bop so this album was a must for me.

N:  Tom Grennan ‘Evering Road’. It’s two thumbs up and dancing around the room to this one! Tom truly has outdone himself with this epic album!

Favourite Things

Favourite Thing About March

E: The brighter days now that the clocks have gone forward and it’s beginning to feel a little less wintery ’round here and I’m never going to complain about that.

N: How bright it has gotten in the evenings. You love to see the sky brighter for longer.

Favourite Item of the Month

E: Probably the Rhinestone Picture Craft Kit I’ve been working on. It’s been so calming to work on and it’s so much fun to watch the picture come together and look so pretty.

N: Gaming a lot this month… again so, the PS5.

Moment of the Month

E: Niamh saying that she’ll watch Formula 1 so I have someone to talk to about it. I know a very small number of people who watch it regularly so it’s great to have a friend to chat to about my favourite sport.

N: Stating on a scale of 1-10 of how excited I was for new Chasing Abbey music as: “Taylor Swift could do a surprise drop in the morning and I’d still be more excited for Chasing Abbey music!” to be met with a tonne of messages a few days later with screenshots of the news Taylor was dropping new music! (For reference, Taylor is my Queen. I adore her.)

Your Quote of the Month

E: “Never regret anything that made you smile.”

N: “We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”

Three things you are most excited about for April?

E: Chocolate. Easter is coming so lots of chocolate soon. Hopefully getting another huge part of my projects finished and being one step closer to being finished. And lastly, maybe getting out of the house because restrictions are very slowly being lifted and I’m hoping we won’t be put into lockdown again.

N: Easter, I sent a package to my cousins for Easter, so I cannot wait to get their reaction to that. New Music because it’s getting me through this lockdown and hopefully getting through my massive To Be Read pile of books!
