ASMR Halloween Special

Hello Witches, Wizards, Creature of the Night and Humans! It’s getting closer to Halloween by the day and, in true spooky fashion, October wouldn’t be October without the fantastic and unique ASMR content on YouTube! October is the month where you are guaranteed to find something exceptionally recorded and edited by some amazingly talented ASMRists. So, I had to include them in one of our Spooktober Blog Posts. For anyone who needs a reminder of ASMR and why it is more than just “Brushing A Microphone,” you can read my previous post about ASMR here. But, if you don’t feel like reading another post first let’s get down the basics:

ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It is described as being a tingling sensation that begins on the scalp and moves to your lower back. Some people may even get it on their arms. Basically, it is like getting chills or goosebumps from someone playing with your hair or tracing letters/shapes on your back. ASRMists are YouTubers who make ASMR videos. Usually it is just them with a microphone and sometimes that may have some props, such as makeup brushes. It is a fairly niche area of YouTube but has been described as being ‘The BIGGEST YouTube trend you never heard of’. Many viewers watch ASMR to relax with prime watching time being night time viewers regardless of what time zone you are in. Originally, I watched ASMR videos to relax before trying to sleep or to help calm myself when experiencing spikes in my anxiety or when my worrying got a bit too much. Each ASMRist will tell you that ASMR should not be used instead of seeking medical advice when things get too much for you, so please listen to them.

Now let’s get into the main reason why you may be here: our Halloween Special of ASMR. Instead of choosing six ASMRist that I highly recommend, the Halloween Special is dedicated to six videos that truly made me wonder “how did they do that?” with their special effects, overall production or storyline. Here’s to my top six Halloween themed ASMR Videos for 2020 to get you into that Halloween Spirit.

Calming Coven [ASMR] Witchy Collab

First up is 2020’s best Halloween collaboration in my opinion. Twenty-five insanely talented ASMRists decided to come together for CalmingEscapes’ ASMR Witchy Collab. Clocking in at over 3 hours and 40 minutes; I am still making my way through this masterpiece as it only came out last night! The storyline is fun and interesting while each ASMRist brings something different to the table. A lot of my favourite ASMRists who I watch regularly are in this one too so it is a real treat!

Five Nights at Jennie’s

VisualSounds1 is the Queen of Halloween series. This year’s addition is based on Five Nights at Freddie’s. Each video gets creepier as you go through the nights and, at the time of writing this post, four nights out of five were posted on YouTube. Jen’s production is always top notch and her acting skills are phenomenal. Seriously, someone needs to hire her to star in a movie. Keep your eyes peeled for Jen’s realistic animatronic movements because I had to look twice to make sure it was actually her moving.

Welcome to Halloweentown ASMR

ASMR Shanny’s attention to detail in this video is outstanding. I loved the fact that she made her own map of Halloweentown. For anyone who is a fan of the Halloweentown Disney Channel Original Movies, this ASMR video is a must see. The most original take on a video based on the series that I have seen on YouTube.

Your Other Mother & Father / Coraline ASMR

One movie I find extremely creepy but it is a must watch every year is Coraline. Massive congratulations to CrinkleLuvin ASMR and Jim5 ASMR for being the best real life people playing the characters and not an animation. Jim5 ASMR acting is on point for being just like a puppet while CrinkleLuvin ASMR is terrifyingly good as the Other Mother. Try not to have nightmares about buttons!

[ASMR] The Joker / Halloween 2020 / Soft Spoken / ASMR Roleplay

Cap Bailey ASMR is my latest find in the ASMR Community and, by gosh, is his acting on point! His first video that I stumbled across was this one, the Joker. Creepily accurate in character’s personality and in look. I look forward to seeing what this ASMRist gets up to next! Until then, I hope you enjoy your new smile!

[ASMR] Halloween Special (Fiddlesticks lore)

Over the Summer, I decided to dive into the ASMR videos of other languages I could understand and speak. The first ASMRist I found that I really enjoyed the content of was ASMR Reliya as, in a former life, I played a bit of League of Legends and World of Warcraft. ASMR Reliya does some fun videos but this post is all about Halloween; the recommendation I 100% approve of is this. Sets the scene from the get go as an eerie storytelling backdrop.

Until next time, happy spooky relaxing!
