My Year in Music – April 2020

Here we are again, another month begins and another bunch of additions are made to the My Year In Music playlists on Spotify and YouTube. This started out as little New Years Resolution for my own personal amusement; I would note a unique song (or songs) on a daily basis in a journal that I bought last year. It’s now quickly becoming a list of the more unusual songs that have appeared throughout my days from what I hear on the radio, on playlists or whatever randomly appears in my head (those are always the weirdest ones) but it’s fun for me to look back at the playlist that I’ve compiled so far.

Apr 1: San Francisco – 5 Seconds of Summer (Sounds Good Feels Good has been slept on for long enough! Aaaaand I found my newest musical addiction. I had three 5 Seconds of Summer songs included in this list originally – blame Niamh.)

Apr 4: Let Down – Radiohead

Apr 5: Once in a Lifetime – Talking Heads (I owe this one to Conor O’Donohoe. For long stretches of time, I forget about this song and then I get reminders of how much I love it. So thanks for the reminder Conor!) 

Apr 6: Bohemian Like You – Dandy Warhols (I have always loved this song!)

Apr 7: What Do You Mean – Hudson Taylor

Apr 12: Children – Robert Miles

Apr 14: That Don’t Impress Me Much – Shania Twain (I genuinely have no excuse and you know I don’t even regret it.)

Apr 15: Freed From Desire – Gala

Apr 16: you should see me in a crown – Billie Eilish (I’m pretty sure Billie has appeared in nearly every single month so far but she is just unbelievable so here she is….again.)

Apr 17: (Everything I Do) I Do It For You – Bryan Adams (My mam has some crazy random singles on vinyls… This is perhaps the least unusual one)

Apr 18: Love on Top – Beyonce (Bring the Beat In! “COMING BEYONCE!” Big brownie points if you get the reference)

Apr 19: Wasabi – Little Mix (For the girls over on Music Box PR. Big Love Ladies xx)

Apr 20: Stitches – Shawn Mendes

Apr 21: The Man – Taylor Swift

Apr 22: Roxanne – The Police

Apr 23: We Will Rock You – Queen

Apr 24: How To Be a Heartbreaker – Marina and the Diamonds

Apr 25: Karma – Fallen Lights

Apr 26: Falling – Harry Styles (For those of you who didn’t see my tweet, I really cannot recommend watching Ally Naso‘s rewritten version of this song which is absolutely stunning!)

Apr 27: Boyfriend – Justin Bieber

Apr 28: One Day Like This – Elbow

Apr 29: Days Like This – Van Morrison (Go watch Dermot Kennedy’s cover of this song it is spectacular!)

Apr 30: FRIENDS – Marshmello & Anne Marie
